War II history and the inside world of French wine come to life
as you join authors Don and Petie Kladstrup on this exclusive
9-day tour based on their best-selling book, Wine & War.
Day by day, you'll meet the valiant winemakers and chateau
owners who struggled fervently against the Nazis to save
France's greatest treasure: its wine. As you visit some of
the most prestigious estates of Champagne, Burgundy, the Loire
Valley and Bordeaux, these passionate men and women will recount
their experiences during the war, show us their beautiful
cellars and impressive wineries, and of course, offer us a
tasting of their extraordinary wines. From Aubert de
Villaine at Domaine de la Romanée Conti, to Claude Taittinger
at Champagnes Taittinger, to May-Eliane de Lencquesaing at Chateau
Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande (among many others), the
list of participants reads like a veritable "who's who"
of French winemaking greats. An unforgettable experience
for World War II enthusiasts and wine lovers alike, this tour
also includes fine hotels, gourmet dining, and the spectacular
scenery and history of the French wine country.

special pre-tour extension is also available, starting with an
exceptional dinner and cellar tour with Don & Petie and owner Claude Terrail
at La Tour d’Argent. The next day, you'll have the
moving experience of visiting the Normandy D-Day landing beaches
with a WWII expert.
