


From Paris, after a 90-minute drive with your English-speaking guide/driver, arrive in Reims, considered the capital city of the Champagne region, and also the city of coronations where most of the Kings of France were crowned. Start with an orientation tour including a guided visit of the gothic cathedral followed by a guided visit of a major champagne house such as Veuve Clicquot or a more intimate boutique house (depending on availability). Free time for lunch (on own). In the afternoon, visit Epernay and the prestigious chalk cellars of "Moët & Chandon" for a Champagne tasting before returning to Paris. Day tour rates

From Bordeaux (local hotel, train station or airport), you’ll be greeted by your English-speaking, wine expert guide/driver. Depart for the Médoc, world-renowned for its Classified Growth chateaux, following the “Route des Châteaux” through the famous villages of Margaux, Saint Julien, Pauillac and Saint Estephe, visiting a top rated Grand Cru classe chateau. Enjoy a lovely lunch (on own) at one of the finest restaurants in the area, or try something more casual. This afternoon, you’ll enjoy a tour and tasting at a another Grand Cru classe chateau, for example Château Lynch Bages, Château Pichon Longueville, Château Phélan Ségur or Château Palmer. Known for its majestic royal chateaux and great red and white wines, the Loire Valley is a favorite destination for wine lovers visiting France. From Tours (local hotel or train station, with convenient high speed train departing from Paris) you’ll be greeted by your English-speaking wine expert guide/driver. Transfer to Vouvray, one of the noblest expressions of the Chenin Blanc grape. Visit one of Vouvray’s top estates and sample dry, medium dry, sweet and sparkling Vouvray. Enjoy lunch on own in Chinon, meandering in the steps of Joan of Arc and Richard the Lion Heart, before discovering the great red wine appellations of the Loire, featuring elegant wines made exclusively from the Cabernet Franc grape. The next estate welcomes us in the Chinon appellation. After a tour, taste a series of rosé and red wines including older vintages. End the day with a discovery of the Bourgueil appellation and visit with a 14th generation wine maker who crafts fantastic red wines made of cabernet franc. (Possibility to visit a historical chateau, such as Chenonceau, Azay-le-Rideau, Chambord, ect. in place of one of the estate visits.) Late afternoon, drive back to Saint Pierre des Corps TGV station for a 55 minute train ride to Paris Montparnasse station. Day tour rates

From Dijon (local hotel or train station, with convenient high speed train departing from Paris), you’ll be greeted by your English-speaking, wine expert guide/driver. Depart for the historic Clos de Vougeot, where winemaking first began in this region, and enjoy a guided tour of the buildings, and the mammoth thirteenth-century winepresses installed by the Cistercian monks to whom these vineyards belonged for nearly 700 years until the Revolution. Start your wine tasting experience with your first estate visit, learning about the nuances of the appellations as well as an introduction Burgundian style winemaking. Next you will visit a top producer in appellation Clos Vougeot. Enjoy a lovely welcome lunch (on own) in a charming country inn. This afternoon, you’ll enjoy a tasting at a top estate of the Côtes de Nuits, in appellations such as Gevrey Chambertin or Vosne Romanée, followed by a stop along the renowned vineyards of Domaine de la Romanée Conti. From Avignon, you’ll be greeted by your English-speaking, wine expert guide/driver for a visit to three leading wine estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Gigondas. The morning commences in vineyards high up in the Gigondas hills where your guide explains how “terroir” influences the wines that you will taste at the cellar of a leading producer. After lunch (on own) at an excellent local restaurant, you will travel to Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The 14th century Papal chateau - a monument to this village’s rich wine history - towers of the village. As you tour the scenic vineyards and the cellars of two of its leading estates your guide will explain how the diverse terroir, grape varieties and winemaking methods define the characteristics and quality of the wines that you taste.
