French Wine Explorers wins travel industry’s top honors for website

French Wine Explorers’ website again received top honors, a Gold Award, in the prestigious 2010 Magellan competition. The travel industry’s premiere awards, the Magellan Awards are presented annually Travel Weekly magazine.This is French Wine Explorers’ second Magellan Gold Award, having received its first in 2009, also for its consumer website.

“I’m so honored to receive this Magellan Award for the second consecutive year. A great deal of effort was put into creating this French Wine Explorers’ Website, which both beautifully represents our brand and provides ease of navigation and information to serve our clients,” says French Wine Explorers President Pascale Bernasse.

The Magellan Awards were judged by a panel of top travel professionals representing the industry’s best names and most accomplished leaders, including NBC’s Today Show travel editor Peter Greenberg; veteran travel journalist Patricia Schultz, author of the international bestseller “1,000 Places to See Before You Die”; and Bob Dickinson, former President and CEO of Carnival Cruise Lines. The awards honor a broad range of industry segments including Hotels and Resorts, Travel Destinations, Cruise Lines, Online Travel Services, Airlines and Airports, Travel Agents and Agencies, Tour Operators and Car Rental Companies.

“This year’s Magellan award winners have once again raised the bar,” said Arnie Weissmann, editor in chief of Travel Weekly. “The overall caliber of entries this year was outstanding and we’re proud to salute this year’s winners who represent a diverse and accomplished group of travel professionals and industry leaders.”
